Wow, over a year since my last post now. Still extremely into cryptids but have been focusing on my internet marketing career. People clicking the ads is the only reason this site is still up and I may start updating it again if the clicks keep up

Alright I know there hasn’t been any activity recently, but as most of you who weren’t too lazy to read the “about me” section know, I have crohn’s. Well I went into the hospital for a little over a week because it got infected. I was out for about a week and it got bad again so I ended up back in the hospital and got surgery for it a few days later. They kept me in about another week and it took another week or so to recover.
Anyways, here I am. I’m symptom free now and other than the pains from surgery I’m in great shape. Thus the Oregon Bigfoot blog will live and I will continue to update with all Cryptid information.

Well this could be a bombshell, no they didn’t find bigfoot, but they found something alright! I’m not sure how exactly they missed it but apparently a new census found 125,000 gorillas in the Congo forests. Previous estimates of gorilla populations were below 100,000 but with this new discovery they have jumped up to a range of 175,000 to 225,000. It’s quite surprising that we could miss so many gorillas but it just goes to show that you never really know what’s out there. While this is great news for gorillas, they are still in the danger zone so don’t start killing them.

The population estimates of the gorillas has now doubled.

Lots of people know about the ‘Montauk Monster’, which is a mysterious dead animal carcass which apparently washed up July 13th at Montauk, Long Island, New York. The image of this creature is pretty stunning on first view:

The carcass of a supposed sea monster.
Since then alot of confusion has made this a very popular case. It took until now for some people with common sense to make out exactly what this is. Claims of it being a turtle without a shell, an eagle-dog, some sort of prehistoric monster, and the fact that it has been used in advertising don’t help its case. The conclusion that most of us have come to however is simply that it’s a dog. One of the first things that happens to bodies that roll around in the water is that their fur comes off, and they look grotesque, hair-less and bloated.
This is an immediate eye-opener to the case as a dog which has been in the water for a decent period of time would most likely look nothing like a dog. The facial tissues then decomposes, leaving a defleshed snout and eventually a completely defleshed skull. At the same time, the skin on the hands and feet is lost. While this seems to point towards a dog as the obvious answer, there are some problems. Firstly it doesn’t match so well with the carcass, there is a much more obvious match; a raccoon. All of these defleshments would apply to a raccoon as well and when comparing these images you can see a very similar construction:

A composite of the Montauk and raccoon.

Another view of the Montauk Monster.
While these cases are fun, once again it’s just a decomposed creature which we already know plenty about.

As many people already know, there was a shocking report that a group of bigfoot trackers killed a bigfoot. The body is supposedly stored within a freezer on their property. They have released multiple videos gloating that they have the body and noone else does, they are quite rude in general and simply a good way for them to lose credibility. If they have the body, why won’t they show it to someone, get it put on the news! This could be the spark to keep people looking, if we knew they were real there would be a bigfoot rush across the world. Their website can be found here.
There is no credible evidence pointing toward them telling the truth other than the suggestion that one of them is a police officer… because they can’t lie. Anyways, this is one of the biggest things in the bigfoot world right now, the recent episode of Sasquatch Experience recently talked about this as well as many other online bigfoot shows. Anyone else have anything to add to this or any comments?
